App Updates
Automatic update checks
LunaFinder can check for new versions while you use the app. When an update is available, you will see an Update Available window.
Update Available window
The dialog shows:
- Your current version
- The new version number
- What’s New release notes when provided
You can:
- Skip — dismiss for now
- Update Now — start downloading
Download progress
While downloading, the button may show Downloading… and a progress notification can appear. Wait until the download completes—do not force-quit unless necessary.
Install after download
When the download finishes, an Update Ready dialog asks whether to Restart & Install now or choose Later.
- Restart & Install — LunaFinder quits and applies the update, then you reopen the app.
- Later — continue working; install when you are ready (you may see the prompt again).
If update fails
You might see messages such as:
- An error occurred while checking for updates
- Failed to start download
- An unexpected error occurred while downloading
- Failed to install update. Please try again.
Check your internet connection and try again later, or download a fresh installer from lunafinder.com if support advises that.
Updates vs license
App updates bring new features and fixes. They do not replace your license—you still use the same activation after updating.
