Licensing and Pricing
How you buy LunaFinder
LunaFinder is sold as a one-time payment: you pay once and can use the app without a recurring subscription fee to LunaFinder for access to the application itself.
Purchase happens on the LunaFinder website (not inside the app). After purchase you receive a license key by email or on your receipt.
What your license includes
- Permission to activate LunaFinder on your Mac(s) according to the terms of your purchase
- Unlimited use of core features: folder browsing, keywords, search, preview, copy workflows, and settings
- Updates delivered through the app’s update mechanism (see App updates)
Specifics about how many computers one key covers are defined in your purchase terms on the website.
Activating your license
Enter your key the first time you launch the app. See Activating your license for step-by-step instructions.
No in-app store
LunaFinder does not show a shopping cart or subscription screen inside the app. If you need a new key or lost yours, use Visit Support in the activation window or go to lunafinder.com.
Optional costs outside LunaFinder
LunaFinder itself does not charge for cloud storage. You may still pay for:
- Your own Dropbox, Google Drive, or backup drives
- Internet service (needed for activation and optional AI model download)
- macOS hardware you already own
AI Search costs
AI Search uses a downloaded model (~600 MB) and runs locally. There is no per-search fee from LunaFinder; you only need disk space and time to index photos.
Refunds and support
Questions about billing, lost keys, or refunds are handled through LunaFinder support, not through a menu in the app.
