Quick Preview and Photo Viewer
Why use the photo viewer?
The main grid uses thumbnails—great for overview, not for checking sharpness, noise, or small details. The photo viewer opens a separate window with a large view of the image.
Open the viewer
Choose any of these when exactly one image is selected:
| Method | Action |
|---|---|
| Space | Opens the viewer |
| Double-click the thumbnail | Opens the viewer |
| Right-click → Open Preview | Opens the viewer |
If multiple photos are selected, Space does not open the viewer—select a single image first.
What you see in the viewer
- Filename and details such as dimensions and file size at the top
- The image scaled to fit the window
- Previous and Next buttons on the sides
- Zoom controls: Fit, minus, plus, and current zoom level
Zoom and pan
- Click Fit to fit the whole image in the window.
- Use + and − to zoom in and out.
- When zoomed in, you can scroll or drag to pan around the image.
- On a trackpad or mouse, ⌘ + scroll also adjusts zoom (pinch-style zoom).
Close the viewer
Press Esc or close the window. Your place in the main grid is preserved.
Copy from the viewer
Press ⌘ C inside the viewer to copy the image content to the clipboard (same as in the main window). A confirmation toast may appear.
Sync with the main window
When you move to the previous or next photo in the viewer, the selection in the main window updates to match—so the Properties panel stays in sync.
