Detailed guides for every LunaFinder feature: search, tagging, browsing, storage, and more.

Navigating Between Photos

Arrow keys in the main window

With the main LunaFinder window active and photos visible in the grid:

  • Press (left arrow) to select the previous image in the current list.
  • Press (right arrow) to select the next image.

The right Properties panel updates as you move—useful for quickly reviewing keywords and metadata while staying in the grid.

Arrow navigation follows the order of files in the current view (folder contents, search results, or tag-filtered list).

Arrow keys in the photo viewer

When the photo viewer window is open:

  • shows the previous image.
  • shows the next image.

You can also click the side navigation buttons in the viewer.

The main window selection follows the viewer so you always know which file you are inspecting.

Order matters

Previous and next are based on how files are listed right now:

  • In a folder, order is how LunaFinder lists that folder’s images.
  • In search results, order follows the search result list.
  • In a tag filter, order follows the filtered set.

Double-click vs arrows

  • Double-click opens the viewer for one photo.
  • Arrows let you move through many photos without closing the viewer or clicking each thumbnail.

Tips for review sessions

  1. Select the first image of a set.
  2. Press Space to open the viewer.
  3. Use to approve or reject shots mentally while checking focus.
  4. Press Esc when done; add keywords in the main window for keepers.
