Documentation

Detailed guides for every LunaFinder feature: search, tagging, browsing, storage, and more.

Working from the Context Menu

Open the context menu

Right-click (or Control-click) any file in the center grid.

The menu adapts slightly: options like Open Preview and Open Color Picker appear only for image files.

Actions for images

Menu itemWhat it does
Open PreviewOpens the photo viewer window
Open Color PickerOpens the color sampling tool
Copy ImageCopies image content to clipboard
Copy Image PathCopies the file’s path as text
RenameRenames the file on disk (see warning below)

Rename warning

Renaming changes the actual filename on disk, not just a label inside LunaFinder. A warning in the rename dialog reminds you of this. Choose names carefully so links and companion keyword files stay paired with the correct image.

Delete warning

Move to Trash removes the file from your Mac (to the Trash), not only from the LunaFinder view. Confirm only when you intend to delete the original.

Reveal in Finder

Use this when you need to:

  • Copy the file manually to another drive
  • Open it in another application
  • Check which disk or sync folder it lives in
